
Mark is the founder and managing partner at Real Time Strategy
and general management consultancy. He specializes in strategy
development and implementation with a focus on troubled organizations.
He recently served as Vice President and head of Retail for
adidas US and Canada. In this role, Mark led all aspects of
the retail multi-channel inline, factory outlet and e-commerce
business. adidas was a past and current client.
Mark has over two decades of experience advising corporations
on managing change and improving performance. As a consultant,
his engagements spanned financial services (banking and insurance),
retail, telecommunications, retail, entertainment, healthcare,
media/content, community service organizations, retail operations
and manufacturing industries. This work has spanned product
and service issues in consumer, not for profit, and industrial
settings in the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Friedman has successfully completed the Blue Ocean Strategy
qualification process administered by the Blue Ocean Strategy–Initiative
Centre. Friedman is also an expert practitioner of the Balanced
Scorecard and, where appropriate, uses it as a tool for strategy
development and implementation. Friedman was personally trained
by David Norton, co-creator of the Balanced Scorecard and has
personally worked with Dr. Norton.
Mr. Friedman holds an MSIA (MBA) from Carnegie Mellon University
(now The Tepper School of Business) with High Distinction and
a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.
